Issues for Men

What does it mean to be male these days?

Once it was easy; you made sure there was food on the table, kept the kids in line, made the important decisions. But women aren’t the same as they used to be, and neither are kids. Society is changing so fast.

What is going on?

For instance, there was a time when anger wasn’t the issue it was now. Once it was okay for a man to have a bit of a temper. Expected even, as long as it was justified. But all that seems to be changing too.

So what good is a man if not for bringing home the bacon and asserting his right to be who he is? If men aren’t the dominant sex any more, then how are they supposed to behave, how do they get love and respect?

If you’ve been asking yourself these questions then you’re certainly not alone. But men don’t talk about things like this. It’s almost taboo.

But perhaps it is time to talk about about it, before the wheels fall off at home or at work. A counsellor provides a safe place to do it, as well as a real understanding of the problems - and some answers you may never have thought of.
